United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties Launches Strategic Grant Fund to Support Grassroots Nonprofits

United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties is proud to announce the launch of the Strategic Grant Fund, a new funding opportunity designed to strengthen smaller, grassroots nonprofit organizations that are making measurable differences in the lives of residents across the region.

The Strategic Grant Fund provides financial support to organizations that may not have access to United Way’s traditional Community Impact funding. By investing in local initiatives, United Way aims to empower community-driven solutions and expand access to essential resources for those who need them most.

Areas of Focus  
Grant applications must align with at least one of the following impact areas:

  • Housing Stability: Programs promoting affordable housing, homelessness prevention, or supportive housing.
  • Financial Security: Initiatives that increase economic mobility, workforce readiness, or financial literacy.
  • Food Insecurity: Efforts providing access to nutritious food or addressing hunger among vulnerable populations.
  • Education: Programs that improve early learning, student success, or adult education outcomes.

Funding Guidelines

  • Maximum award amount: $7,500 per organization
  • Funds may be used for programmatic support, direct services, or capacity-building efforts directly tied to the approved impact area.
  • Eligible applicants must be recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing serving St. Johns and/or Putnam Counties.

Application Timeline

Application Opens: November 17, 2025

Application Closes: November 28, 2025

Notification of Awards: December 5, 2025

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties reserves the right to request additional documentation or clarification during the review process.
