At United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties, we are proud to provide financial support an incredible network of local nonprofit partners who step up every day to uplift neighbors in their greatest times of need. Together, we are more than individual organizations—we are a collective force for good. By pooling resources, expertise, and compassion, we are able to transform hardship into hope and create real, lasting change for families across our community.
Through trusted partners such as St. Johns County Housing Partnership, Alpha-Omega Miracle Home, and the Youth Crisis Center, United Way powers life-changing programs that meet people where they are and help them build stronger, safer, more resilient futures. These are not just services; they are lifelines, and the stories of the people touched by this work remind us why our mission matters so deeply.
St. Johns County Housing Partnership
When Shannon, who relies on a wheelchair, reached out for help with something as simple as a ramp, the St. Johns County Housing Partnership saw an opportunity to do so much more. With additional support and funding, her home was not only made accessible but also safer, cooler, and cleaner. These improvements opened the door to in-home physical therapy and, more importantly, restored her independence and dignity. What began as a request for a ramp became a complete transformation in Shannon’s quality of life.
Alpha-Omega Miracle Home
For Maci, a young mother with a newborn and a toddler, Alpha-Omega Miracle Home became a sanctuary when she had nowhere else to turn. In less than a year, she not only found a safe and stable home but also regained her confidence, secured employment, returned to school, and obtained reliable transportation. With the support of Alpha-Omega, Maci is now thriving and, most importantly, building a brighter future for her children. Her story is one of resilience and hope—the kind of success that inspires us all.
Youth Crisis Center
A local teen entered the Youth Crisis Center overwhelmed by self-harm, academic struggles, and conflict at home. At first resistant to change, she slowly began to open up to the program’s caring staff and resources. With time, her healing journey became clear: she stopped self-harming, her grades improved, relationships with her family grew stronger, and she found the confidence to take on a part-time job. What once seemed like a future clouded with pain has become a path filled with promise.
These are just a few of the countless stories made possible when we unite as a community. At United Way, we know that no one organization can do it all—but together, we can ensure that every neighbor has the opportunity to rise above challenges and achieve stability, health, and hope. By powering the work of our nonprofit partners, we help turn moments of crisis into journeys of transformation.
Together, we’re building stronger, safer, and more resilient lives across St. Johns and Putnam Counties—and with every success story, we move one step closer to the thriving community we all envision.
