United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties is proud to announce that we have been selected as a beneficiary of Birdies for Charity, the official fundraising program of THE PLAYERS Championship. This exciting opportunity allows our community to support local families in a simple, impactful way — while engaging with one of Northeast Florida’s premier sporting events.

Through Birdies for Charity, every dollar donated to United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties directly supports our work advancing youth opportunity, financial security, healthy community, and community resiliency across both counties.

What is Birdies for Charity?

Birdies for Charity is a philanthropic program presented by THE PLAYERS Championship that engages donors, nonprofits, and the community to raise funds for local charitable organizations.

Here’s how it works:
  • Make a minimum $20 donation to United Way of St. Johns and Putnam Counties. HERE!
  • With your donation, guess the total number of birdies* that will be made during the competitive rounds of THE PLAYERS Championship (Thursday–Sunday).
  • If you guess the exact number of birdies, you have the chance to win a $10,000 grand prize.
United Way receives:
  • 100% of every donation
  • A share of a bonus pool funded by THE PLAYERS

That means every contribution through Birdies for Charity goes directly back into strengthening St. Johns and Putnam counties — with additional bonus dollars multiplying your impact.

Why Your Support Matters

Funds raised through Birdies for Charity will help United Way:

  • Expand access to early learning and grade-level reading initiatives that set children up for long-term success.
  • Connect families to critical financial education, housing stability resources, and workforce pathways that promote economic mobility.
  • Support mental health, disaster response, and community resiliency efforts so neighbors can recover and rebuild during times of crisis.
  • Invest in strategic partnerships with local nonprofits to address our community’s most pressing needs.

Join Us in Making an Impact

Whether you are a golf fan, a longtime supporter, or someone looking for a fun way to give back, this is a meaningful way to invest in our neighbors and the future of St. Johns and Putnam counties.

Together, we can turn birdies into lasting impact — because United is the way.

*A birdie is one stroke under par on a golf hole. Par is the standard number of strokes expected to complete a hole.
