United Way of St. Johns County recently received two very generous corporate donations: Publix Super Markets Charities presented a check for $218,500 and Ring Power Corporation presented a check for $160,384.86.
As one of the largest supporters of United Way-SJC and United Ways across the country, Publix Charities matches employee donations by giving .746 cents for every dollar that an employee donates. With 12 stores in the county, this match is significant.
Ring Power, also a significant employer in St. Johns County, brought their 2017 Employee Giving Campaign to a whole new level. By taking the phrase “The Power of Working Together” to heart, employees exceeded their goal of $150,000, and increased donations by $45,000 over last year. Funds will be distributed to the United Way-SJC, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and several other non-profit organizations across the country.
These funds, along with all funds raised in St. Johns County annually by United Way-SJC, are invested locally. Through the partnerships fostered by United Way-SJC and area non-profit agencies like the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida, Betty Griffin House, and Council on Aging, many essential programs are offered throughout the community impacting residents across the county.
